What is a ‘Canopy Day’. A ‘Canopy Day’ is when this culture closes its judgement, begins to reconsider its wayward thinking, and opens its mind to renewing and recovering the lives and souls of – the ‘Bag Holders’.

The Bag Holders…

“…the teens, children, adolescents and ‘in-tow families’, of this nation, who are the ‘end-of-the-line recipients – and carriers of the ‘unintended consequences’, of this culture’s madness. These teens, children, adolescents and ‘in-tow families’, of this culture are the ones that either through intention or misdirection - become the ‘direct hits’ – and bearers of the sharp and piercing outcomes of the policies, thoughts, procedures and then moral decisions of this culture gone aimless.”

I am Dr. Steve Bonenberger, Ph.D. I am an author. A researcher. A practitioner of healing. A speaker-presenter and a thought leader in the realm and universe of children and adolescents that this culture – either by intent or misdirection - left out in the cold.

I am an advocate for families, for children, for adolescents, for those individuals and institutions that provide clinical and faith-based care – to present the chance – the moment to arrive – where a rebirth and renaissance of clear thinking - right and rightly motivated behaviors and surrender to God might once more take center stage.

My Credentials

My credentials are…

• 40 + years of working in ministry in some direct or indirect fashion

• Countless sessions with men – women – children – addled and wayward adolescents – working at feverish pace and intensity to reclaim lost and misdirected souls

• Clinical integration with faith-based practices – I am the author – the creator – the builder of ‘The Way Out’. ‘The Way Out’ is indeed my magnus opus on human healing and human restoration

• Advocate for Sobriety – I am often the ‘sole voice in the wilderness’ – constantly shouting and consistently demanding – sobriety to at least have a chance to gain some place of reason in this culture gone mad

• Christ Follower – first and foremost – I am a Christ Follower. It remains my constant contention that all healing comes from and finds true source – solely through and because of total soul surrender to the power of God

• Ordained Minister of The Gospel of Jesus Christ – I operate under religious exemption and practice based upon my clinical training and the constant search for means, techniques and methods to bring harmed souls to find full recovery through and because of their commitment to full surrender of their life to God

Our Intention

Our intention is clear – to provide support, guidance, teaching, curriculum, therapeutic and governance models and then advocacy for those families that are suffering the ill-effects of this cultural madness that has gone seriously awry.
